Every action—big or small—makes a difference. Whether it’s making calls, knocking on doors, attending meetings, or simply staying informed, your involvement is essential to strengthening our Party and paving the way for Democratic victories in 2026 and beyond.

If you’re wondering what you can do to make a difference, here are 10 Action Steps you can take right now at the local level to fight back against the MAGA agenda and the KYGOP supermajority.

1) Check our calendar to join us for meetings, happy hours, training, and more

2) Interested in running for office? Attend KDP Candidate Training to get the tools you need to get ready to run.

3) Contact your elected officials at the federal, state and local level and speak up about legislation that will negatively impact your community and the Commonwealth.

4) Stay informed about the Kentucky General Assembly. Visit the KYGA page on our website to find your state legislator, watch live legislative coverage and committee meetings, track bills, view legislative committee materials, and more.

5) Participate in Party Reorganization. Every four years, the Kentucky Democratic Party (KDP) reorganizes to elect new leadership at the Precinct, County, and State levels.

6) Subscribe to our email list.

7) Follow us on BlueSky, Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter/X.

8) Sign up to Phone bank and connect with local Democrats to encourage them to get involved.

9) Share information, talk to your friends, family, and neighbors about the importance of taking action locally, and encourage them to attend a monthly meeting or event.
